Rügenwalder Mühle is a prominent German heritage brand that has successfully transitioned from a traditional butcher shop to a market leader in plant-based meat alternatives. Founded in 1834 in Pomerania, it moved its operations to Bad Zwischenahn, Lower Saxony, after World War II.

Starting in 2024, the brand became part of the Pfeifer & Langen Industrie und Handel group, specifically under the The Nature's Richness Group. This strategic acquisition combined Rügenwalder Mühle's expertise in sustainable and protein-rich food products with the industrial scale of Pfeifer & Langen. Manufacturing remains concentrated in Germany to maintain the distinctive quality associated with its famous 'Mühle' (mill) logo.
