Bergader is a well-known German dairy brand specializing in blue cheese and semi-soft cheeses. Founded in 1902 by Basil Weixler in Waging am See, Bavaria, the company rose to prominence with the creation of 'Bayerischer Gebirgs-Blauschimmelkäse' (Bavarian Mountain Blue Mold Cheese). Today, Bergader Privatkäserei remains a family-owned enterprise, with the third and fourth generations of the Weixler family managing the business. Manufacturing primarily takes place in Upper Bavaria, adhering to traditional alpine cheese-making techniques while distributing its products to over 50 countries worldwide. The brand is celebrated for its commitment to using regional milk from alpine cows and maintaining independent control over its production and quality standards.
