Brand History and Origin

Elizabeth Arden was founded in 1910 by Florence Nightingale Graham, who used the business name Elizabeth Arden. The brand opened its first Red Door salon on Fifth Avenue in New York City, pioneering the concept of the 'Total Beauty' makeover and bringing scientific innovation to the American beauty industry.

Manufacturing Footprint

The company maintains significant manufacturing operations in the United States, particularly for its fragrances and high-end skincare lines. However, as it expanded globally, production facilities and contract manufacturers in Europe and Asia are also utilized to meet international demand.

Ownership and Legacy

For much of its history, Elizabeth Arden was an independent powerhouse before being acquired by Eli Lilly in 1971. After changing hands through various owners including Fabergé/Unilever, it was acquired by FFI in 2003, which then took the name Elizabeth Arden Inc. In 2016, the brand was acquired by Revlon, which remains the ultimate owner today under its restructured corporate entity following its 2023 financial reorganization.
