Baldwin is a prestigious brand in the door hardware and residential fixture market, known for its high-quality brass craftsmanship. Founded in 1946 in Newark, New Jersey, the brand originally built its reputation on luxury mortise locks and decorative hardware. Over the decades, it has expanded its catalog to include various kitchen accessories and home hardware solutions.

While the brand maintains its American design heritage, manufacturing transitioned from its original Pennsylvania facility to a global supply chain following its acquisition. Today, production is largely concentrated in overseas facilities in Mexico and China to maintain competitive global distribution.

Currently, Baldwin operates as a flagship brand under the Hardware and Home Improvement (HHI) division of ASSA ABLOY, a Swedish conglomerate that acquired the business from Spectrum Brands in 2023.
