Pilgrim's Pride is one of the largest poultry producers in the world. Originally founded in 1946 by Lonnie "Bo" Pilgrim and his brother Aubrey in Pittsburg, Texas, the brand started as a small feed store that sold baby chicks. Over the decades, it expanded horizontally and vertically to become a dominant force in the global meat industry.
Today, Pilgrim's Pride operates extensive manufacturing and processing facilities across the United States, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and Europe (particularly the UK and France). Since 2009, the majority stake of the company has been owned by JBS S.A., a Brazilian-based global meat processing giant. This ownership makes Pilgrim's a key subsidiary in JBS's international portfolio, allowing it to maintain a massive supply chain that serves retail, food service, and industrial customers worldwide.
