Ritz Crackers are a globally recognized brand of savory crackers originally introduced by the Nabisco company in the United States in 1934. The brand was created during the Great Depression as a luxury that everyday people could afford, named after the famous Ritz-Carlton Hotel to evoke a sense of high quality. Known for their circular shape, scalloped edges, and buttery flavor, Ritz has expanded its product line to include many varieties, such as the cheese-filled sandwich crackers shown in the image.
The brand's ownership has evolved through several corporate mergers and acquisitions. Originally a Nabisco product, it became part of Kraft Foods after Kraft acquired Nabisco in 2000. In 2012, Kraft Foods split into two separate entities, and Ritz became a staple brand of Mondelēz International, which focuses on global snacks and confectionery. Today, Ritz is manufactured in numerous facilities worldwide to serve different regional markets, including various plants across North America, Europe, and Asia.
