Facundo is one of Spain's most iconic snack brands, particularly famous for its 'pipas' (sunflower seeds). The brand traces its roots back to 1944 in the province of Palencia, Spain, when Facundo Blanco and his wife, Villagra, began roasting sunflower seeds in a small bakery. They revolutionized the market by introducing the method of air-roasting rather than frying, which became a signature of the brand.

The business has remained a family-controlled enterprise for generations. While it has modernized its production facilities in Villamuriel de Cerrato and Villada, it maintains its status as a Spanish national champion in the savory snack sector. The brand is well-known for its mascot, a bull named 'Facundo', and its long-standing marketing slogan about being 'a pleasure from this world'. Unlike many competitors that have been acquired by global conglomerates, Facundo continues to operate under the stewardship of the founding family’s company.
