In 2016, Bayer sold its Diabetes Care business to Panasonic Healthcare Holdings, which was a joint venture between Panasonic Corporation and the investment firm KKR. This transition led to the creation of Ascensia Diabetes Care, which now serves as the global entity managing the Contour brand family.

Manufacturing of these strips occurs in multiple locations internationally to support a global supply chain, with major facilities located in Japan. Ascensia Diabetes Care maintains its global headquarters in Switzerland, overseeing the product's distribution and technological evolution.
