Páramo Directional Clothing is a British brand founded in 1992 by Nick Brown, who also founded the Nikwax waterproofings company. The brand is renowned for its unique 'Nikwax Analogy' fabric system, which mimics the action of animal fur by pushing liquid water away from the body, providing high breathability and reliable weather protection without the need for traditional membranes. Since its inception, the brand has maintained a deep commitment to ethical production.

Nearly all Páramo garments are manufactured in Colombia through a long-standing partnership with the Miquelina Foundation. This social enterprise was established to provide employment, housing, and childcare for vulnerable women in Bogotá. In 2022, the brand underwent a significant transition when Nick Brown sold the company to its employees, making it part of an Employee Ownership Trust, ensuring that the legacy of performance and social responsibility continues under the stewardship of its workforce.
