Philips CRT Television

Philips is a historic Dutch technology conglomerate with a deep-rooted legacy in television manufacturing. Originally established in Eindhoven, Netherlands, Philips was a pioneer in consumer electronics for over a century.

Starting in the late 20th century and accelerating into the 2010s, Philips shifted its strategic focus toward health technology. While the Philips brand continues to appear on consumer electronics worldwide, the television division is now largely managed through licensing agreements. In many global markets, including Europe, the Philips TV brand is operated by TP Vision, a subsidiary of the Hong Kong-based TPV Technology. This shift explains why manufacturing occurs across multiple locations, including China, Poland, and Brazil, rather than exclusively in the Netherlands. Koninklijke Philips N.V. remains the ultimate owner of the brand name, but the consumer electronics manufacturing is handled by specialized partners.
