C0rculo de Lectores book

C0rculo de Lectores was a prominent Spanish book club and publishing house founded in 1962. It became a cultural staple in Spain, originally established by the German conglomerate Bertelsmann. The brand specialized in high-quality hardcover editions and direct-to-home distribution.

Over the decades, the ownership shifted from being purely a Bertelsmann venture to a joint venture with Planeta Group. In 2014, Planeta Group acquired the remaining 50% from Bertelsmann, becoming the sole owner. However, due to the rise of digital commerce, the club ceased its commercial activity in 2019, making these books legacy items currently owned by the Planeta portfolio. Most of these editions were manufactured and printed in Spain.
