Diadora is a historic Italian brand established in 1948 by Marcello Danieli. Originally specializing in mountain boots, the company evolved into a world-renowned sports equipment manufacturer, gaining global fame during the 1970s and 80s through associations with athletes like Björn Borg and Roberto Baggio.
While Diadora maintains strong roots in Italy, its manufacturing is distributed globally to optimize production specialized to various product lines. High-end heritage collections are frequently manufactured in Italy or Portugal, as seen in this instance where the packaging explicitly labels the product as 'made in Portugal.' The brand is currently owned by L.IR. (Lavorazione Italiane Rinnuovate), an investment arm of the Polegato family, who also founded Geox.
