The brand has undergone significant ownership changes over the decades. Originally independent, it became part of a larger corporate structure. Today, Apis is the flagship brand of Carnes y Vegetales, S.L. Since the early 2000s, this company has been owned by Extremadura Avante (the public business group of the Regional Government of Extremadura) and Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias de Extremadura. This cooperative-based ownership ensures that the production remains local, supporting Spanish farmers directly.
