Langnese is one of Germany's most traditional and well-known food brands, specializing in high-quality honey products since the early 20th century. Founded in 1927 by Karl Rolf Lauenstein, the brand revolutionized the honey market by introducing standardized quality and glass packaging.
Today, Langnese Honig remains a market leader in Europe, known for its distinctive hexagonal jars. While the brand originated within the Lauenstein family and later saw involvement from international conglomerates, its production and heart remain deeply rooted in Germany. Raw materials are sourced responsibly from selected global regions particularly suited for specific honey types, then processed and quality-checked in Germany to meet strict food safety standards.
The brand is currently owned by the Langnese Honig GmbH & Co. KG, which operates as part of the Mederer group (famed for Trolli) and continues to maintain the heritage and consistency of the 'Flotte Biene' and other honey varieties.
