Adelholzener mineral water is sourced from the Bavarian Alps in Siegsdorf, Germany. The brand has a rich history dating back to 1849 when Georg Mayer first began bottling water from the 'Primusquelle' spring. Since 1907, the company has been entirely owned by the Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy of St. Vincent de Paul, a Catholic order of nuns headquartered in Munich.

All production and bottling occur at the company's facility in Siegsdorf, Chiemgau. The brand is known for its commitment to social responsibility and environmental sustainability, using a significant percentage of reusable PET and glass bottles. All profits from the business, after reinvestment into the company, are used by the Sisters of Mercy to fund their social projects, which include hospitals and care homes for the elderly across Bavaria.
