Creed is a prestigious multi-generational perfumery house originally founded in London in 1760 by James Henry Creed. Initially starting as a tailoring establishment, it famously transitioned into a fragrance house that served royal courts across Europe. The brand later moved its headquarters to Paris, France, in 1854 at the request of Empress Eugénie, where it established its reputation as a leader in luxury artisanal scents.
Today, Creed fragrances are primarily manufactured in France, maintaining traditional infusion techniques that preserve the high quality of their natural ingredients. While the brand remained family-owned for over 250 years, it underwent significant corporate changes recently. In 2020, it was acquired by BlackRock Long Term Private Capital and Javier Ferrán. Subsequently, in 2023, the brand was acquired by Kering, a global luxury group based in France that also owns brands like Gucci and Saint Laurent, positioning Creed within their Beauté division for future growth.
