Panagor was a trade name used by J. Osawa & Co., Ltd., a prominent Japanese trading company that specialized in photographic equipment during the 1970s and 1980s. While Panagor was the brand name, the physical manufacturing of their lenses was outsourced to specialized Japanese optics manufacturers, most notably Komine and sometimes Kino Precision (Kiron).

This specific Tele-Macro lens is a classic example of vintage Japanese optical engineering, known for its high build quality and sharpness. After the bankruptcy of J. Osawa & Co. in 1984, the Panagor brand essentially disappeared from the new market, though the lenses remain popular among vintage camera enthusiasts today.
