Gorenje WaveActive washing machine

Gorenje is a well-known European manufacturer of household appliances, originally established in 1950 in the village of Gorenje, Slovenia. Over decades, it grew to become one of the largest appliance manufacturers in Central Europe, known for its focus on design and innovation. The WaveActive series is one of their modern lines, featuring technologies like SteamTech for deeper fabric cleaning.

While the brand has its roots in Slovenia, its ownership underwent a significant shift in 2018. The Chinese multinational electronics manufacturer Hisense Group acquired a majority stake in Gorenje, eventually becoming the sole owner. Today, Gorenje operates as a key brand within the Hisense Europe group. While many of its flagship washing machines and premium appliances are still manufactured in its primary facilities in Velenje, Slovenia, production has also expanded to other Hisense-owned facilities globally to meet market demand.
