Nespresso is an icon of the coffee world, originally invented in Switzerland in 1976 by Eric Favre, an employee of Nestlé. The brand revolutionized the way coffee is consumed at home by introducing a portioned system that provides espresso-quality beverages with the push of a button. The 'Original' line shown in the image features the classic aluminum capsules that are compatible with the original Nespresso machine system.
The product is manufactured exclusively in Switzerland, across three specialized production centers: Avenches, Orbe, and Romont. From these locations, the capsules are exported globally. Nespresso remains a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nestlé, the world's largest food and beverage company. As of 2026, Nestlé continues to oversee its global operations from its headquarters in Vevey, Switzerland, maintaining Nespresso as a premium brand within its extensive portfolio.
