Bösendorfer piano

Bösendorfer is one of the world's oldest and most prestigious piano manufacturers, known for their unique tonal qualities and exceptional craftsmanship. Founded in Vienna in 1828 by Ignaz Bösendorfer, the brand quickly became a symbol of Austrian musical heritage, earning the title of 'Imperial and Royal Piano Purveyor' to the Emperor of Austria.

Today, all Bösendorfer instruments are still handcrafted in Wiener Neustadt, Austria, using traditional methods and high-quality Austrian spruce. This local production ensures the 'Viennese sound' that the brand is celebrated for remains authentic. Despite its historic European roots, the brand is currently owned by the Japanese Yamaha Corporation.

Yamaha acquired Bösendorfer in 2008 from the Austrian BAWAG P.S.K. Group. Under Yamaha's ownership, Bösendorfer continues to operate as an independent luxury brand, maintaining its distinct manufacturing processes and premium market positioning while benefiting from Yamaha's global distribution network.
