The Ampeg SVT-4 PRO is a high-performance rackmount bass amplifier head known for its tube preamp and solid-state power section. Ampeg, originally founded in the United States in 1946, gained legendary status for its SVT (Super Valve Technology) series which became a standard in the music industry.

While early models of the SVT-4 PRO were manufactured in the USA, production transitioned largely to China following ownership changes and global manufacturing shifts. The brand has been owned by several major entities over the decades, including Magnavox and Loud Technologies. In 2018, Ampeg was acquired by Yamaha Guitar Group, a subsidiary of the Japanese multinational Yamaha Corporation, which continues to oversee the brand's production and distribution globally.
