Haglöfs outdoor gear

Haglöfs is a premier Swedish outdoor brand with a history dating back to 1914. Founded by Wiktor Haglöf in Dalarna, the company began as a small-scale workshop producing backpacks for local workers and foresters. Over the century, it evolved from a local craft business into a global technical outdoor brand known for its high-performance jackets, footwear, and equipment.

In terms of production, Haglöfs does not own its own factories. Instead, it operates through a global network of approximately 90 suppliers and manufacturers across 17 different countries, primarily in Asia and Europe. While the design and development remains centered in Stockholm, Sweden, the physical manufacturing is distributed internationally to ensure technical specialization for different product lines.

Ownership of the brand has changed hands over the years to support its global expansion. After being owned by the Japanese sportswear giant ASICS for over a decade (since 2010), Haglöfs was acquired in December 2023 by LionRock Capital, a private equity firm based in Hong Kong. As of 2026, Haglöfs continues to operate as an independent brand under LionRock's ownership, focusing on technical innovation and sustainability while maintaining its strong Nordic heritage.
