The brand's journey began in 1990 when Arthur Liao founded the MHR production plant in China, which initially produced helmets for other established global brands. In 2007, the company decided to launch its own brand, LS2, establishing its global headquarters in Barcelona, Spain, to lead design and marketing efforts while maintaining large-scale manufacturing in China.

The brand is owned by MHR Helmet Co. Ltd., which manages the entire product lifecycle from initial design to final assembly. LS2 is recognized for its vertical integration, meaning they manufacture their own components, allowing for strict quality control. The 'Pinlock' branding seen on the visor refers to an anti-fog lens insert supplied by a Dutch partner company, which is a standard feature in high-performance LS2 helmets.
