Alpura is one of Mexico's most prominent dairy brands, with its name being a contraction of 'Alta Pureza' (High Purity). Founded in 1972 by a cooperative of dairy farmers, the brand was established to ensure high-quality milk production standards across the country.

Today, the product is manufactured in Mexico by Ganaderos Productores de Leche Pura, S.A.P.I. de C.V., specifically at their facility in Cuautitlán Izcalli, State of Mexico. The brand remains under the ultimate ownership of the original cooperative members, maintaining its status as a 100% Mexican company. Alpura manages its own supply chain, from the health of the cows to the packaging of the final product, which is widely distributed throughout Mexico and exported to the United States.
