Snow Beer is the world's best-selling beer brand by volume, despite being sold primarily within mainland China. It was first launched in 1993 in Shenyang. The brand is known for its light, crisp profile and is an iconic staple of Chinese beverage culture.
Originally established as a joint venture between China Resources Enterprise and the South African Breweries (later SABMiller), the ownership structure evolved significantly over the decades. Following the massive merger between AB InBev and SABMiller, China Resources Beer (Holdings) Co. Ltd. acquired the remaining stake to comply with antitrust regulations, securing full control over the brand.
Today, Snow is produced in dozens of breweries across various provinces in China. While China Resources Beer is the ultimate owner, the Dutch brewing giant Heineken N.V. currently holds a significant minority stake in the operating company, reflecting a strategic partnership in the Chinese market.
