Birra Pedavena is a historic Italian beer brand with a legacy dating back to its founding in 1897 in the town of Pedavena, located in the province of Belluno. The brewery was established by the Luciani brothers and quickly became an integral part of Italian brewing heritage. Throughout its history, the brewery has faced various ownership changes and even the threat of closure, which led to a famous movement by workers and the local community to save the facility.
Currently, the brand and the brewery are owned by the Castello di Udine group (Birra Castello S.p.A.), an Italian entity that acquired the site from Heineken in 2006. This acquisition returned the brand to Italian ownership, ensuring that the production remains centered in its historical home at the foot of the Dolomites. Today, Pedavena is celebrated for its traditional brewing methods and its strong connection to the local territory and ingredients.
