XS Energy Drink

XS Energy Drink was originally created in 2001 by David Vanderveen and Scott Coon in Laguna Beach, California. The brand gained prominence as one of the first exclusively sugar-free energy drinks on the market. Shortly after its launch, it was adopted by Amway Independent Business Owners (IBOs), and Amway became the exclusive distributor in 2003.

In 2015, Amway officially acquired the XS brand to integrate it fully into its global health and wellness portfolio. Historically, the production was handled by various co-manufacturers, but in 2020, Amway invested $15 million to convert a facility at its world headquarters in Ada, Michigan, into its first carbonated beverage plant. This facility now handles the majority of production for the Americas. Globally, the brand is distributed in over 50 countries through Amway’s direct-selling network.
