Balconi Dolciaria is a prominent Italian brand specializing in sponge-based cakes and snacks. Founded in 1953 by pastry chef Michele Balconi in Milan, the company grew from a small artisanal shop into a major industrial player in the confectionery sector. Balconi is widely recognized for its diverse range of products, including snacks like 'Trancetto', mini rolls, wafers, and seasonal cakes like Panettone.

Today, the brand is part of the international food conglomerate Valeo Foods Group. Valeo Foods acquired Balconi in 2015 from the private equity firm Clessidra and the founding family. Under the ownership of Valeo Foods, which is itself controlled by the global investment firm Bain Capital as of 2021, Balconi has continued to expand its reach. While the brand maintains deep roots in Italy with significant manufacturing facilities in Nerviano and other locations, its products are distributed to over 80 countries worldwide, combining traditional Italian recipes with modern industrial excellence.
