Balconi snack cakes

Balconi is a well-known Italian brand specializing in the production of sponge-based snack cakes, biscuits, and wafers. Founded in 1953 by Michele Balconi as a local artisanal pastry shop, the company grew significantly over the decades to become one of the largest confectionery manufacturers in Italy. The brand is particularly famous for its 'Trancetto' and 'Mix Max' snack lines.

Historically, the brand remained a family-owned business until 2011 when the Italian private equity firm Clessidra SGR acquired a majority stake. In 2015, the Irish food giant Valeo Foods Group acquired Balconi, integrating it into their international portfolio of food brands. Today, Balconi maintains its strong Italian identity, with its primary manufacturing facilities still located in Nerviano, Italy, from where it exports products to over 80 countries worldwide.
