This specific line is the result of the ¡Tierra! project, a social responsibility initiative launched by the Lavazza Foundation in 2002 to improve the living conditions and social development of coffee-growing communities. The coffee is sourced from various sustainable plantations across Central and South America, Africa, and Asia, often carrying Rainforest Alliance or Organic certifications.

While the raw green coffee beans are sourced globally from regions like Brazil, Colombia, and Peru, the roasting and final production primarily take place at Lavazza's historic facilities in Italy. However, to meet global demand and sustainability goals, the company has expanded its roasting operations to other countries, including the United States, France, and India. Lavazza remains a privately held family business, managed by the fourth generation of the Lavazza family, maintaining its heritage as a global ambassador of the authentic Italian espresso culture.
