Tim Tam is an iconic Australian chocolate biscuit first introduced by Arnott's in 1964. Named after the winning horse of the 1958 Kentucky Derby, the biscuit was developed by Ian Norris, the director of food technology at Arnott's, who was inspired by the British Penguin biscuit and sought to create a superior version.

The biscuits are primarily manufactured at the Arnott's factory in Huntingwood, Western Sydney, which is one of the most technologically advanced food manufacturing facilities in the world. While the brand is synonymous with Australian culture and utilizes locally sourced ingredients like sugar and flour, its ownership has transitioned through several international conglomerates over the decades.

After being owned by the American Campbell Soup Company for many years, the brand was acquired by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR) in 2019. Today, Tim Tam remains a global snack brand, exported to numerous countries while maintaining its deep roots and primary production base in Australia.
