The brand was established in Germany to provide high-quality snacking alternatives at competitive prices within Lidl’s extensive retail network.

As a private-label product, Alesto Sunflower Seeds are not produced in a single dedicated factory. Instead, they are sourced and processed by various specialized third-party agricultural suppliers across Europe and other regions, such as Romania or Bulgaria, depending on harvest quality and supply chain logistics. The Alesto brand is ultimately owned by the Schwarz Gruppe (Schwarz Group), one of the world's largest retail conglomerates, which also operates the Lidl and Kaufland store chains. This vertical integration allows Lidl to maintain strict quality standards while distributing the products globally from its headquarters in Neckarsulm, Germany.
