Apis Tomate Triturado

Apis is a historic Spanish brand with roots dating back to 1927. It was officially inaugurated in 1929 in Mérida, Spain, by King Alfonso XIII. Originally established by a group of local farmers, the company focused on meat processing before expanding into canned vegetables. The tomatoes are sourced directly from the Guadiana Valley in the Extremadura region, ensuring a 'field-to-can' traceability within six hours of harvesting.

Following the collapse of the Nueva Rumasa group in 2011, the brand was rescued and is currently owned by the cooperative Carnes y Vegetales SL (Apis Group). This group is composed of over 2,500 local cooperative members, primarily farmers from Extremadura. The brand remains a symbol of traditional Spanish agriculture, utilizing modern manufacturing complexes in Mérida and Montijo to produce its signature crushed tomatoes and pates.
