Chanteclair is an iconic brand with roots dating back to the early 20th century in Marseille, France, where master soap maker Auguste Roustan patented a natural formula for Marseille soap. While the brand's heritage is French, its modern commercial success and development are deeply tied to Italy. In the late 1990s, the brand underwent a significant transformation under Italian ownership, introducing the first liquid laundry soap in Italy in 1997 and its famous Universal Degreaser in 1999.

Today, Chanteclair is a staple in European households, recognized by its distinctive 'Gallo del Pulito' (Cleaning Rooster) logo. The brand is owned by the Desa Group (Italsilva), an Italian industrial giant owned by the Silva family. Manufacturing primarily takes place in the group's Italian production facilities located in regions such as Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna, ensuring the high standards of Italian craftsmanship and quality that the brand is known for internationally.
