Fothergill's Seeds, originally known as Mr. Fothergill's Seeds, is a prominent international horticultural brand with a heritage dating back to 1978. Founded in Newmarket, Suffolk, by Jeff Fothergill and Brian Carey, the company initially operated from the converted stable blocks of Lillie Langtry's former home. Over the decades, it grew from a family-owned business into a global leader in the hobby seed market, known for its extensive range of flower and vegetable seeds, plants, and gardening tools.

In recent years, the company has undergone a significant corporate transformation. In February 2022, a management buyout backed by Harwood Capital Management and OakNorth Bank transitioned the company away from the founding families. By 2023, Harwood Capital Management assumed full control of the group. Under new leadership, the brand has been modernised, dropping the 'Mr.' from its primary brand name in 2024 to become simply 'Fothergill's', reflecting a contemporary, community-focused identity.

Manufacturing and distribution remain centered at its purpose-built headquarters in Kentford, Newmarket, where the company produces over 50 million packets of seeds annually. While seeds are sourced from global suppliers to ensure variety and quality, the primary packing and distribution operations are based in the UK, supported by major international subsidiaries in Australia and New Zealand to serve the Southern Hemisphere markets.
