Vega is a pioneering brand in the plant-based nutrition industry, founded in 2001 in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. The brand was established by Charles Chang and Brendan Brazier, a professional Ironman triathlete, with the goal of providing clean, plant-based fuel for active lifestyles. In 2015, the brand was acquired by WhiteWave Foods, which was later purchased by the global food giant Danone in 2017. However, as part of a strategic portfolio review, Danone sold the brand in 2021 to WM Partners, a U.S.-based private equity firm specializing in the health and wellness sector. Today, Vega operates under WellMore Holdings (a platform company of WM Partners). While the brand has global reach, a significant portion of its production remains rooted in Canada, reflecting its heritage and commitment to high-quality manufacturing standards.
