Schmidt's Naturals was born in 2010 when founder Jaime Schmidt began crafting natural personal care products in her kitchen in Portland, Oregon. Driven by a desire for an effective aluminum-free deodorant, Jaime refined her plant- and mineral-based formulas and initially sold them at local farmers' markets. The brand quickly gained a cult following for its transparency and effectiveness, leading to a partnership with investor Michael Cammarata and a rapid expansion into major retail chains.

In December 2017, the brand reached a significant milestone when it was acquired by the global consumer goods giant Unilever. While the brand maintains its headquarters and roots in Portland, Oregon, manufacturing is handled across North American facilities, with many sticks—including the Rose & Vanilla variant—being produced in Canada and the United States to meet international demand.
