Góralki Mleczne chocolate wafer

Góralki (known as Horalky in its home market) is a legendary wafer brand with deep roots in Central Europe. Originally introduced in 1953 by the Czechoslovak state enterprise Pečivárne Sereď, the brand became a cultural staple in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. In 2007, the brand was officially launched in the Polish market under the name 'Góralki', which translates to 'highlander girls,' mirroring the Slovak name's reference to mountain flowers and local heritage.

For decades, the brand was managed by I.D.C. Holding, a.s., one of Slovakia's largest confectionery producers. However, in late 2024, it was announced that I.D.C. Holding would be acquired by the Irish-headquartered Valeo Foods Group, which is backed by the American investment firm Bain Capital. Today, while the brand remains a symbol of Slovak confectionery tradition, it is part of a major international snack portfolio, with production facilities primarily located in Slovakia and Poland to serve the European market.
