Bonomelli is an iconic Italian brand with over a century of history in herbal excellence. Founded in Milan in 1908 by Luigi Amedeo Bonomelli, the company pioneered the commercialization of chamomile and herbal infusions in Italy. In 1939, it established a specialized center in Foggia to oversee the entire cultivation and processing chain of chamomile flowers. Following the destruction of its Milanese workshop during World War II, the company moved its main packaging operations to Dolzago, near Lecco.

In 1988, Bonomelli was acquired by Gruppo Montenegro, a leading Italian food and spirits conglomerate. Today, the brand continues to operate as the centerpiece of Montenegro's Food Division. Manufacturing remains deeply rooted in Italy, with specialized facilities in Foggia for primary processing and a modern, sustainably powered production plant in Dolzago for blending and packaging. Ownership is held by the Seràgnoli family through Gruppo Montenegro, ensuring the brand remains an ambassador of Italian quality and tradition.
