Lion chocolate and cereal snack

Lion is a popular confectionery brand best known for its chocolate bar consisting of a filled wafer, caramel, and crisp cereal enrobed in milk chocolate. The brand was originally launched in 1976 by the British confectionery company Rowntree's in Newcastle, UK. In 1988, the Swiss multinational Nestlé acquired Rowntree Mackintosh, bringing the Lion brand into its global portfolio. Following the acquisition, much of the production was moved from the United Kingdom to Dijon, France.

Today, the Lion brand has expanded beyond the original chocolate bar to include products like Lion Cereal, which is manufactured through Cereal Partners Worldwide—a joint venture between Nestlé and General Mills. While the brand originated in the UK, its ultimate ownership resides with the Swiss giant Nestlé, and its primary manufacturing hub for the European market remains in France.
