Dreft afwasmiddel

Dreft afwasmiddel (dishwashing liquid) is a prominent household brand in the Benelux region, particularly the Netherlands and Belgium. While the Dreft name is used for laundry detergents in North America, in Europe, it is the branding used for Procter & Gamble's premium dishwashing liquid, which is identical to the Fairy brand sold in the UK, Germany, and other markets.

Originally, the Dreft brand was introduced by Procter & Gamble in 1933 as the first synthetic detergent. The dishwashing liquid variant was launched in 1947 and entered the Dutch market in 1968. Today, the brand is owned by the American multinational Procter & Gamble. Interestingly, while the dishwashing liquid remains a core P&G product, some regional laundry detergent rights for the Dreft name in certain European markets were divested to third parties like BlueSun (PHI Industrial) in 2015, though the dish soap remains a flagship P&G Home Care brand.

Manufacturing occurs across several P&G facilities globally to serve the European market. Common production sites for European dish care products include plants in the United Kingdom, Czechia, and Western Europe, ensuring a wide distribution network for this highly concentrated cleaning agent.
