Sparta kojinės žiemai

Sparta is a venerable Lithuanian hosiery brand with a history dating back to 1918. Originally founded as a private workshop named 'Vilniaus karūna' (Vilnius Crown) in Vilnius, the company evolved through the 20th century, becoming a major textile producer in the Baltic region. After being nationalized during the Soviet era and renamed 'Sparta' in 1945—a name chosen for its connotation of speed and pace—it survived the transition back to a market economy following Lithuania's independence in 1990.

In March 2019, the brand reached a significant milestone when it was acquired by the Danish JBS Textile Group. Despite this change in ownership, the manufacturing operations remain concentrated in Lithuania, specifically at the Sparta Textile factory in Vilnius. The brand is well-regarded for its wide range of products, including specialized winter socks (kojinės žiemai) made with materials like merino wool and reinforced soles for durability and warmth. Today, Sparta continues to be a leading name in the European textile industry, leveraging its century-long expertise under the strategic umbrella of its Danish parent company.
