Shachihata is a renowned Japanese stationery company founded in 1925, primarily known for its innovative stamps and writing instruments under the Artline and Xstamper brands. The Artline 250 (model EK-250N) is a high-quality permanent marker featuring a fine 0.4mm tip, designed for precise writing on various surfaces including plastic, metal, and paper.
Originally established as an ink manufacturer, Shachihata revolutionized the industry with the development of pre-inked rubber stamps. The Artline brand was introduced in 1964 and has since expanded its manufacturing footprint globally. While the primary high-precision production facility remains at the Inazawa Plant in Japan, the company also operates significant manufacturing facilities in Malaysia, China, and India to serve international markets. Ownership remains private, held by the founding Funahashi family's corporate entities in Nagoya, Japan.
