Dentosal is an iconic Swedish oral care brand with a history dating back to 1915, originally founded by dentist Carl Axel Samsioe. The product is famous for its unique formulation containing natural salt and sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), which acts as a mild abrasive for natural polishing and stain removal. The brand became a household name in Sweden and Finland over the course of the 20th century.

After being discontinued by its previous owner, Perrigo, in 2019 due to the closure of their production facility, the brand was acquired by Avia Pharma AB in late 2020. Avia Pharma re-launched the product in 2021, partnering with Natumin Pharma AB for manufacturing. The product is primarily manufactured in Habo, Sweden, at Natumin Pharma's specialized facility for cosmetics and medical devices.

Currently, the brand is part of the Avia Pharma portfolio, which is a growing Northern European pharmaceutical platform. Avia Pharma itself is backed by the healthcare-focused investment firm Impilo, ensuring the long-term stability and distribution of this historic brand across the Nordic and DACH regions.
