Nakd is a prominent British brand known for its commitment to 'wholefood' snacking, specializing in raw fruit and nut bars that are cold-pressed and free from added sugars or syrups. The brand was founded in 2004 by Californian brothers Jamie and Greg Combs under their company, Natural Balance Foods. Headquartered in Buckinghamshire, the company pioneered the healthy snacking category in the UK by offering products that are gluten-free, wheat-free, and dairy-free.

In 2015, the brand's international growth was accelerated when the Belgian confectionery giant Lotus Bakeries acquired a majority stake. By 2020, Lotus Bakeries increased its ownership to nearly 98%, fully integrating Nakd into its global distribution network. Despite the Belgian ownership, the products continue to be manufactured primarily in the United Kingdom, maintaining their status as a staple of British healthy snacking. The original founders remain involved as advisors to preserve the brand's core philosophy of simplicity and natural ingredients.
