Bienenwirtschaft Meissen is a traditional German honey brand with a history spanning over 70 years, originally established in 1949 in the town of Meissen, Saxony. During the era of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), it was a leading state-owned enterprise (VEB) and the country's largest honey bottler. Since the reunification and the early 1990s, the company has been a 100% subsidiary of the family-owned company Breitsamer & Ulrich, based in Munich.

The 'Blütentracht Streichzart' product is a creamy, mild-aromatic multi-flower honey. While the company is deeply rooted in Meissen, where the final processing and bottling occur, the honey itself is sourced from both regional German beekeepers and selected international partners to ensure consistent quality and supply.
