Hymer Motorhomes

Hymer is a prestigious brand synonymous with high-quality motorhomes and leisure vehicles. Founded in 1957 by Erwin Hymer and Erich Bachem (from whose name the 'Eriba' brand was also derived), the company revolutionized the European travel market with the launch of the original 'Troll' caravan. Based in Bad Waldsee, Germany, Hymer has established itself as a leader in technical innovation, specifically through its patented PUAL sandwich construction which provides superior insulation and vehicle durability.

Over the decades, Hymer expanded its reach by acquiring various other leisure vehicle brands, forming the Erwin Hymer Group (EHG). In early 2019, the group was acquired by the American manufacturer Thor Industries. This acquisition created the world's largest manufacturer of recreational vehicles, combining North American and European market leadership. While the ownership is now American, Hymer vehicles maintain their German engineering heritage and continue to be primarily manufactured at their state-of-the-art facilities in Bad Waldsee.
