Aeroméxico Airlines

Aeroméxico, officially known as Grupo Aeroméxico S.A.B. de C.V., is the flagship carrier of Mexico. Established in 1934 as Aeronaves de México, the airline has grown to become the country's most prominent international carrier and a founding member of the SkyTeam alliance.

Historically, the brand has undergone significant transformations, including periods of government ownership through CINTRA and subsequent privatization. Its main hub is located at the Mexico City International Airport. While its primary operations and brand identity are rooted in Mexico, the airline maintains a global presence with routes spanning the Americas, Europe, and Asia.

The airline's ownership structure has evolved through various strategic partnerships. Delta Air Lines became a significant minority stakeholder in the 2010s. Following a Chapter 11 restructuring process in the United States concluded in 2022, the company emerged with a diversified group of investors, including Apollo Global Management and Delta Air Lines, ensuring its continued operation as Mexico's leading global airline service provider.
