Totalplay is a major Mexican telecommunications company founded in 2010 by entrepreneur Ricardo Salinas Pliego. It was a pioneer in Latin America by being the first to deploy an entirely fiber-optic network (FTTH) directly to homes, offering a converged suite of digital services including high-speed internet, IPTV, and telephony.
Since its inception, the brand has been a cornerstone of the Grupo Salinas business conglomerate. While the infrastructure and operations are based exclusively in Mexico, the brand relies on international technology partners for its hardware and software systems. It remains a privately held Mexican entity under the control of the Salinas family, maintaining its position as a high-tech domestic alternative to traditional telecommunications giants.
