Sennheiser is one of the world's most recognized premium audio brands, founded in 1945 by Prof. Dr. Fritz Sennheiser in Wedemark, Germany. For decades, the brand remained a family-owned icon of German engineering, specializing in high-fidelity headphones, professional microphones, and wireless transmission systems.

In a significant strategic shift in 2022, Sennheiser electronic GmbH & Co. KG sold its Consumer Electronics division to the Swiss-based medical audio specialist Sonova Holding AG. Following this transition, the Sennheiser brand operates under a dual structure: Sonova manages the consumer products (such as headphones and soundbars) under a permanent license agreement, while the original Sennheiser Group continues to develop and manufacture the professional audio, business communication, and Neumann studio divisions.

Manufacturing remains global, with professional gear often produced in Sennheiser's own facilities in Germany and Romania, while consumer-focused hardware utilizes Sonova's supply chain and facilities in Asia and Europe.
